New Holland machines used to help upgrade Millennium Stadium surface

A groundcare team from New Holland dealership JG Plant has removed the last fully grass surface at Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium.

The Heineken Cup final on 24 May was the last event to take place before a modern, semi-synthetic replacement surface was laid.

The stripping work was carried out by Inscape, a ground engineering and commercial landscaping organisation which bought JG Plant in January, and involved a 30-man crew working round the clock between 27-30 May to shift 3,500 tonnes of material. Additionally, 40mm of soil was taken off the top of the entire pitch. The team has been stripping the pitch in Cardiff at the end of the season every year since 1999.

New Holland T5.115 and T6.140 machines were used in partnership to complete the work, supported by a New Holland skid steer, a Boomer 30 and a TC24.
